about Ribisu cycling and its history

grew up in Visp in the middle of the Swiss Alps, lives in Ausserberg, has been a mountain biker since the very beginning, has many years of experience in regional and national cross country and downhill competitions.

The local slopes are steep and long. Conventional brake discs will soon reach their performance limits. Quite often the brake pressure in front of a decisive curve was almost completely lost due to overheating, seconds of fright ...

The solution: an iron that rubs better than conventional discs -> the birth of Ribisu, an iron that rubs in Valais German ... In 2007 the first improved, oversized brake disc with a diameter of 220mm was developed !!!

Full suspension tandem bikes were and still are a rarity. That's why we launched the Ribisu tandem project in 2010. Made from two recycled old frames, with double disc front. Ideal to put our giant discs through their paces.

Summermatter Adrian is also a lover of elaborately milled aluminum parts. One day a new downhill bike had to be found because the old one was about to break apart. There was little fancy on the bike market. Adrian had been dreaming about building his own bike for a long time.

He drew his first full-suspension bikes on paper more than 30 years ago, today with special construction programs. Finally there was an opportunity to have our own frame made. The first CNC prototype in 2012 was the result.

First small series with several CNC frame types with the first active Ribisu test drivers in 2014-2016. This version also has a deflected single-joint in motocross style.

In 2018, the first development of a four-bar linkage made of carbon took place, RibisuRocket was born.
